Google Reader is a free tool that will optimize the time you spend on the Internet. It is in my opinion, one of the most important tools in developing the organized and focused approach to your Social Media experience.

Login to your Gmail account and set up your reader.

On the top right of your Gmail page you will see a few tabs – Calendar, Documents, Photos, Reader, Web, more.

Click on Reader ->

On the top right you will see a button that says,

“+ Add a subscription.” Click it ->

Type in – http://itskyle.com -> then click on Add

You are now subscribed to My Social Media Hub.

Whenever the site is updated, it will automatically be sent to your Google Reader.

Okay, you have set up your Google Reader and subscribed to my blog, now it’s time for you to set up your first category on Google Reader.

Go back to the Google Reader home page, scroll down to the botton right hand corner where it says, “Manage Subscriptions” click on it.

Now you are on the Settings page, click on the “Add to a folder” tab

Scrool down to the botton where it says, New folder

Click it -> a text box will pop up asking you to type the name of the folder,

Type in social media tips

Then click OK.

You have just subscribed to your first blog and created a category for the feed. Later I will recommend other social media and personal branding blogs that you should subscribe to.
